To increase productivity and to help automate your marketing, Task lets you auto-publish the tracked activities out to your social networks.
Before you go further, be sure that your connection to Facebook and connection to Twitter have been setup. You don’t have to connect to both of them, but a minimum of one is required. In this example I’ll assume you have both networks connected.
Send completed task data to social networks
In the task editor, switch the setting “Publish this task to configured social networks?” from No to Yes:
This will reveal the per task publishing options:
Facebook header
This will be static text that is added to the top of your post that is sent into your Facebook Page.
Facebook footer
This will be static text that is added to the footer of your post that is sent into your Facebook Page. This can be a great place to drive a call to action such as
“Please support us by donating at https://task.io/user/project/funding – your help would be greatly appreciated“
Twitter hashtags
Particular tasks are often focussed on a particular subject. You may choose to automatically take advantage of this by grouping them using tags. You can set tags for each task you auto-publish, a maximum of two per task.
Useful variables
- Username of the Tasker is {{TASKER_USER_NAME}} – for example, if you’d like to create a link to the user who completed the task (mine is task.io/matt), add task.io/{{TASKER_USER_NAME}}
Save and test
With your task saved, complete it and go check your social network pages. Please allow up to 5 minutes for the updates to arrive as there can be delays.
